Nylon 6,6 Industrial Fibers Engineered to Perform

At INVISTA, our Fibers and Textiles business helps shape what’s possible with Nylon 6,6 (also known as Polyamide 6,6). For more than 80 years, INVISTA has been a trusted supplier of high-performance fibers and intermediates to industries that thrive on reliability, from automotive to apparel. Our Nylon 6,6 industrial fibers strengthen airbag systems, reinforce textiles and enable product designs that require strength, flexibility and precision.

By collaborating closely with customers, we continue to push boundaries for

fiber innovation, helping our partners create products that make a difference

in the real world. We do this by leveraging decades of polymer science, fiber

expertise and manufacturing excellence to deliver durable fibers and textiles

for a range of different applications, including:

Airbags

Nylon 6,6 is valued for its exceptional strength, toughness, and thermal performance, helping airbags withstand the extreme forces and temperatures generated during deployment. Its combination of high tenacity and long-term performance stability supports reliable occupant protection throughout a vehicle's lifetime.

Tire Cord

Nylon 6,6 provides the high strength, fatigue resistance, and dimensional stability under load required for demanding tire reinforcement applications. Its ability to endure repeated flexing and dynamic loads helps improve tire durability, performance, and service life.

Conveyor Belt

Nylon 6,6 fibers combine high tensile strength and impact resistance, enabling belts to absorb shock and flex under heavy loads without compromising performance. These properties make it particularly well-suited for mining, agricultural, package handling, and other demanding conveyor applications.

Sewing Threads

Nylon 6,6 is preferred for sewing threads because it delivers an excellent balance of strength, abrasion resistance, and flexibility. The result is durable seams that maintain integrity under repeated stress, making it ideal for demanding apparel, footwear, automotive (including airbags), and industrial applications.

Mechanical Rubber Goods

Nylon 6,6 reinforcement fibers help mechanical rubber goods achieve high strength, toughness, and resistance to repeated mechanical stress. Their durability and fatigue resistance contribute to longer service life in applications such as hoses, belts, and other reinforced rubber components.

Tailored Solutions

Leveraging industry insights that drive innovation to create customized, high-impact solutions that address unmet needs across the value chain.

Reliable Supply

With production and supply

capabilities in North America,

Europe and Asia, INVISTA offers
